The music of Christopher J. Freyer

Christopher J. Freyer received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition with Performance Honors in Oboe from Syracuse University, studying composition with Brian Israel, Earl George and Andrew Waggoner, and oboe with Philip MacArthur. His Master's Degree is from Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, where he worked with composers Charles Dodge and Robert Starer, and oboist Bert Lucarelli. His concert works have been performed by the Berkshire Lyric Theatre Ensemble, the Meridian String Quartet and numerous other ensembles, and have been broadcast on National Public Radio. In 1992, Freyer was the sole recipient of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Internship in Music, which brought him to Los Angeles. In addition to an internationally distributed video, his music for films and stage has been heard on A & E, PBS, and in several network movies-of-the-week, as well as in a current network series. He has since moved back to his native New York and continues his creative endeavors.
